After winning the third test, India has continued the winning momentum and has thrashed South Africa in the first ODI at Durban. Chasing a total of 270, Virat Kohli helped India’s cause with a brilliant ton and his first in ODIs in South Africa. Twitter is elated as India take a 1-0 lead in the 6 match ODI series.

INDIA BEGINS SERIES ON A WINNING NOTE
After South Africa posted a total of 269 for 8 India registered a comfortable win by 6 wickets and 4.3 overs to spare. The Indian captain was sensational in India’s chase as he scored 12 from 119 balls. He was supported by Ajinkya Rahane’s brave knock of 79 which came from 86 balls.

For South Africa, it was the skipper, Du Plessis who played a captain’s knock. Faf Du Plessis scored his 9th ODI ton on his way to his knock of 120. He was assisted by little cameos by other batsmen.
India from the very first match now has the upper hand in the series. Also, this was India’s first ever ODI win at Durban and it came at a perfect moment. Once again it was Kohli who led India’s chase and he has rather made it a habit to make chases look so easy.
INDIAN SPINNERS WIN ACCOLADES TOO
For India Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 3 from 34. Yuzvendra Chahal was good too and scalped 2 wickets for 45 in his quota of 10 overs. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked one wicket each. The spin duo was spectacular once again.
TWITTER HAILS TEAM INDIA’s PERFORMANCE
After a comprehensive win over the Proteas, team India is being hailed by Twitter especially Virat Kohli who scored his 33rd ODI century today. Virat Kohli has yet again proved that he can score a ton against anyone and at any stadium.

Gritty and a brilliant knock from Rahane.
Number 4⃣ Spot Sealed and Packed once in for all before the WC. Indian batters have treated the SA bowlers, the way they treated the SL bowlers back home. #SAvIND

Overjoyed to see Ajinkya Rahane play. Have always rated him and this is amongst his best one-day innings. Ran beautifully with Kohli and played the lofted hit remarkably. Did his job.
