The injury-ravaged Indian team received another blow on Tuesday after sensational pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the upcoming fourth Test match against Australia due to an abdominal strain.

During the 2018-2019 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah turned out to be the hero with the ball as he picked 21 wickets and would have proved to be more than handy in Brisbane, however, he has now ben ruled out of the series.

Bumrah, who is regarded as the main man or key to India’s bowling attack, sustained the strain during the third test match, that ended up in a draw, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. As per the reprts, Jasprit’s scan reports showed a strain and the Indian team management does not want to risk him for the series decider. A BCCI source told PTI:

“Jasprit Bumrah suffered an abdominal strain while fielding in Sydney. He is going to sit out of the Brisbane Test but is expected to be available against England,”

Bumrah has now joined the long list of Indian players who are unavailable for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Team India is currently under a lot of pressure with the absence f so many players. As team is under strict COVID-19 restrictions, they can’t call for any replacements from back home.

It is now expected that two-Test old Mohammed Siraj will be leading the Indian bowling attack and will be joined by the likes of Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan in the Brisbane Test, starting January 15.

Meanwhile, fans on social media went berserk after this news came out. Fans took to their twitter and expressed agony and disappointment due to Bumrah’s injury.

Bumrah ruled out of the 4th Test. Glad it’s not a five-match series, Rohit Sharma would have been our fifth bowler by then.

Bro, I don’t think we even have XI players left now. https://t.co/YiHwrCHo9P
