With India going on to dominate the Sri Lankans completely, it was a happy tour that ended on a high note with the victory in the T20 match.
With bigger challenges ahead, the Indian team was able to end this one on a high and got a great chance to test the bench strength too. Almost all the players who came on the tour stepped up and this is one of the main reasons that we were able to go 9-0 across these last two months or so.
Today’s T20 match was actually the closest game in the entire tour but even then, the Indians looked very comfortable. We were able to dominate the match even though the Sri Lankans came out with a counter-attacking approach. The game was competitive but when India has Virat Kohli in the kind of form that he is in, there is no doubt about the victory.
Kohli masterclass:
The chase was yet another Virat Kohli masterclass as the captain put on a show, smashing boundaries and running hard between the wickets to aid India in their chase of 177. His 84 runs set the tone for the rest of the team and though he faltered and got out in the end, a major chunk of the work had already been done.
Twitter was having a ball watching Virat Kohli take the Lankans to the cleaners yet again and they came out in full flow to show their support for the record-breaking Indian captain and the team.
Virat Kohli becomes the first captain to whitewash the Lankans at home! Many years back, Lord Ram did the same! ?
Just kidding!

Virat Kohli’s consistency while chasing targets is unexampled, unreal and insane. Average in Tests 61.41, ODIs 67.10, T20Is 84.66. #SLvInd
