After Twitter ecstatically reacted to day one proceedings of the first test at Cape Town, the second day of play too started with Twitter reactions pouring in one after the other. India has a lot to do having lost 3 wickets cheaply including that of the skipper.
The onus is now on Cheteshwar Pujara to steer India’s retaliation and he would seek some substantive support from Rohit Sharma and Saha.
After India started day two cautiously and the Proteas going all guns blazing with their lethal pace attack, Twitter has got reactions trending yet again. These Twitter reactions are taking a dig on the Indian side and these Tweets are both, hilarious and witty. Twitter knows how to roast someone to perfection it seems.
Even after the end of the first day’s play, Twitter went lashing out on Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan for departing from the crease early and leaving India in a spot of bother. While captain Kohli could only manage 5 runs, Dhawan scored just 16 despite showing good intent early in his short-lived innings.
Twitter did not hold itself back from trolling even Anushka Sharma for Kohli’s poor performance in the first innings. Twitter is savage indeed and it spares no one, not even the best batsman for just one flopped innings.
We still feel that it’s too harsh of Twitter to lash out at Virat Kohli like this for he has always performed under tough conditions and one or two flop innings does not make him any less credible and neither should his marriage celebrations be questioned for one bad inning.
Twitter perhaps gets too emotional too early and fans should put more sense into their Tweets and if they are true fans then they should stand by their team in tough times rather than baselessly trolling them.
While every other Indian batman got trapped in their defence, Hardik decided to take the attack to the opposition. The 24 year old all rounder decided to change things after India was reduced to 92/7.
Hardik played superbly and did to the South African bowlers what De Villiers had done to the Indian bowlers. Hardik attacked the lethal pace attack of the Proteas and stitched a crucial partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to see India getting to a decent score and also making sure that South Africa doesn’t get a big lead to play with.
It was brave innings from Pandya but he was lucky to have missed out on a hundred as he got out to Rabada when he was on 93. Twitter as well as the entire cricket fraternity is showering heaps of praises on the young lad who showed how one must bat on such a pitch.
