Twitterati Are Trolling Rohit Sharma For Throwing Away Yet Another Start

Indian star batsman Rohit Sharma failed to make full use of the opportunity as he failed to convert yet another start to a big score on Day 2 of the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Rohit arrived at the Sydney Cricket Ground wearing the Indian cricket team jersey after 14 months. It was a much-awaited return of Rohit and there was a lot of responsibility and pressure on him, due to the absence of skipper Virat Kohli. However, the cricketer could only add 26 runs to the tally before he became the victim of the birthday boy Josh Hazlewood.

Trailing the target of 338 runs, team India kickstarted the game on a positive note. Rohit too, got off to a brilliant start however despite getting off to a confident start, he managed 26 runs off 77 balls. However, just then, he chipped one straight back to Josh Hazlewood, who completed a simple caught and bowled.

The Indian opener averages a whopping 88.33 at home in the longest format of the game, while away, his average remains 26.32. The point to be noted here is that Rohit played a professional cricket game since the IPL 2020 final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, where he suffered an injury.

Hip, hip, Hoff! ?

Meanwhile, social media was flooded with reactions from the netizens on this. There were many who backed the Indian opener and hoped that he make a solid comeback soon. On the other hand, there were many who trolled Rohit left, right and center for his poor performance. There were many who took a dig at the average of Rohit.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

#RohitSharma gave away his wicket to the birthday boy Josh Hazlewood.

Mind you there were 10 other Australians and 2 umpires on the field.
To ensure that all the credits goes to the birthday boy, Rohit gave the catch straight to Hazlewood.

What a big hearted person Sharma is?

Genuine Test players don’t get out after getting their eye in on benign tracks. That soft dismissal shows why Rohit Sharma never became a top-class Test player. #INDvAUS #RohitSharma
