Twitterati Are Not Happy With Sanju Samson For Failing Again

The Indian team for T20 World Cup 2020 is almost confirmed. KL Rahul’s rise as the team’s premier wicket-keeper batsman has solved the wicket-keeping dilemma prevailing in the side. Earlier, there was a lot of confusion about whether the team management should select Sanju Samson or Rishabh Pant as the gloveman. Now that Rahul has cemented his spot, the question is which player will be the back-up keeper for the Men in Blue.
It is unclear if MS Dhoni would ever return to the international team given how silent he has been about his future. In this situation, the team management has been trying the other options and Sanju Samson got an opportunity to prove himself in the India vs New Zealand T20I series. The visitors had already sealed the series with an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the first three matches. With the aim of experimenting, they allowed Sanju Samson to open the innings for India.

The Kerala-based player had impressed a lot in the domestic circuit. Hence, he was backed to do well. He had even played for India in the final T20I against West Indies where he smashed a six on the first ball but lost his wicket on the next ball. The right-handed batsman opened the innings for India in the fourth T20I where he could not make much impact. In the fifth T20I as well, he received an opportunity to open the innings but he made a rough start once again.
Samson scored only 2 runs off his first four deliveries before he handed a catch to Mitchell Santner off Scott Kuggeleijn. Thus, he could not make the most out of the golden chances that he received.  Here’s how Twitter reacted Sanju Samson after his failure.
