Indian stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane seems to be really enjoying his role as a skipper. His powerful knock came to an end on Day 3 in the 2nd Test match against Australia, however, even the run-out couldn’t get the worst out of him. In fact, a gesture of Rahane after his dismissal has won the hearts of many.

Earlier on Day 2, Ajinkya Rahane walked in at number 4 with all guns blazing and took the game by storm. Having lost both the openers Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara, there was a lot of pressure on Rahane’s shoulders, however, he soaked in all the pressure and played a terrific knock. He completed his 12th Test century off 195 balls, smashing 12 fours.

Well, resuming his knock-on 104, Rahane started well and looked to be in fine touch before a run-out that costed his wicket. Jadeja was batting on 49 runs when he defended a delivery from Nathan Lyon towards the offside. The hurry to reach his fifty perhaps forced Jadeja to just take off for that single, however, Rahane did not send him back. The replays showed that Rahane’s bat was on the line and he was given out for 112 runs.

However, what caught everyone’s attention was as soon as ‘OUT’ in bold letters was flashed on the giant screen, the first thing Ajinkya Rahane did was to tap Jadeja and tell him to carry on and get a big one before starting his walk back towards the pavilion.

Meanwhile, social media was soon flooded with amazing reactions from Twitterati on this. People on Twitter were all praises for Rahane.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

Ajinkya Rahane‘s response towards teammate Ravindra Jadeja after being run out speaks volumes for his leadership … given the circumstances he played one of the finest innings by a visiting captain to AUS … #IndvsAus #AusvInd
