Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad shared an emotional twee with his fans about receiving the invitation to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.

The Ram Temple’s inauguration on January 22 in the sacred place of Ayodhya is set to be a grand celebration among the masses across the country. The temple is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to various reports, over 7000 guests across the country, 4,000 of which are sadhus and saints, have been sent invitations to attend the consecration ceremony on January 22. This includes some of India’s biggest celebrities like cricketers and Bollywood stars. Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, too, have reportedly been sent invitations.

On January 2nd, former seamer Venkatesh Prasad confirmed that he had received the invitation to make his presence felt at the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

He posted a heartfelt tweet to share his joy. Prasad mentioned that being able to attend this ceremony would be the greatest moment of his life.

Prasad tweeted: “It was a hope and a desire, that in my lifetime Ram Mandir consecration happens.
And what a moment, not only is the consecration happening on 22nd January, but have the great fortune and blessings to be able to attend India’s greatest moment in my lifetime.
Thank you for the invitation.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old has made comments about India’s woes in in ICC tournaments. India have not won a single ICC title with the senior men’s side for a decade now.

During his interaction with his fans on Twitter, a fans asked Prasad whether Team India have become the new “Chokers” in world cricket. While Prasad pointed out that India did win two Test series in Australia, he admitted that something is wrong with the side right now.

“Chokers not, we have won 2 Test series against Australia in Australia, the last one in 2020-21 after 36 all out, I consider as one of India’s greatest especially with more than half first choice players missing. But there is certainly something not right about not winning any major tournament in 11 years,” Prasad tweeted.
