Age is not a barrier for the 37-year-old Suresh Raina as he showed that even years after international retirement, his fielding sharpness has remained the same.
A former CSK and India batsman, Raina affected a direct-hit run-out with a bullseye throw during a recent game in the ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC) tournament.
In match number 12 of the LLC tournament, in Jammu, the Suresh Raina-led Urbanrisers Hyderabad was up against Irfan Pathan’s Bhilwara Kings at the Molana Azad Stadium, Jammu.
Raina affected a brilliant direct hit run-out of left-handed batsman Iqbal Abdulla. On the 4th ball of the 15th over, bowled by bowled by pacer Pawan Suyal, Abdulla tapped the ball to cover where Suresh Raina picked the ball cleanly and fired the throw at the non-striker’s end. Iqbal Abdulla had set off for a quick single which didn’t exist.
Raina’s throw went straight at the base of the stumps – he had about only one and a half stump to aim at because of the angle, yet Suresh Raina hit bullseye with a direct throw. Iqbal Abdulla was nowhere in the frame and was run out as Raina turned toward the crowd and smiled before being mobbed by his teammates.
