As one of the most seasoned T20 batsmen in the PBKS team, Rossouw aimed to make an impact in his debut match in IPL 2024. However, his innings was cut short after facing just three deliveries, all thanks to the stunning delivery by Jasprit Bumrah.
Well, the dismissal took place during the second over of PBKS’ innings, Bumrah bowled to Rilee Rossouw after Sam Curran faced the first two deliveries. Rossouw faced the third delivery, which was an extremely difficult one from the sensational MI bowler.
The delivery from Bumrah was a full-length one that swung back in sharply at the last moment, catching Rossouw off guard. Attempting to play a drive, Rossouw was completely deceived by the movement of the ball. It crashed into the stumps, uprooting two of them, as Rossouw departed after scoring just one run off three deliveries.

Talking about the game, PBKS found themselves in deep trouble at 49 for 5 in the seventh over as they chased a target of 193 runs for a crucial victory. Their innings started poorly, slumping to 14 for 4, before a 35-run partnership between Shashank Singh and Harpreet Bhatia provided some stability. However, their progress was halted when Shreyas Gopal dismissed Bhatia for 13. In the first innings, MI posted a total of 192 for 7.
Suryakumar Yadav played a crucial innings for the five-time champions, scoring 78 runs off 53 balls. He was supported by Rohit Sharma, who contributed 36 runs, and Tilak Varma, who remained unbeaten on 34. Harshal Patel was the most successful bowler for PBKS, taking three wickets, while Sam Curran chipped in with two wickets.
