The Australian batting star Steve Smith is regarded as one of the best batsmen around the world. Over the years, Smith has frustrated bowlers around the world with his tactics. However, he is clearly struggling with his form in the ongoing 4-match Test series against Australia.
And in a rare moment, sensational Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah managed to dismiss Steve Smith round the legs as he dismissed him on Day 3 of the ongoing second test match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Jasprit Bumrah’s strategy was clear in his head as he constantly bowling quick on-leg stump to Steve Smith. And the strategy finally paid off when Steve walked across and was defeated by speed. Steve didn’t even realize that he was out as he tried to take a single after Rishabh Pant failed to collect the ball.
Not just this, even Jasprit Bumrah wasn’t aware that the bail had fallen off before Rahane showed him the bail on the ground. Steve Smith was left in shock but had no other option than to walk off from the field disappointed. He was dismissed after scoring just 8 runs, leaving his team reeling at 71 for 3. Steve is yet to touch the double-digit mark in the series. His scores in the series so far read – 1 , 1*, 0 and 8.
The video of the same was shared by Cricket Australia’s official Twitter handle.
