Liam Livingstone showcased an animated celebration following his dismissal of Shubman Gill during the ongoing match between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
PBKS, defending a modest total of 142 runs, required early breakthroughs. Arshdeep Singh provided the home side with the crucial first wicket by dismissing Wriddhiman Saha in the fourth over. The experienced wicketkeeper-batsman departed after contributing 13 runs and building a 25-run partnership with captain Gill.
Liam Livingstone Gave An Aggressive Send-Off To Shubman Gill

Gill and Sai Sudharsan managed to stabilize the innings for GT, thwarting PBKS from making further inroads after the initial breakthrough. With cautious play, they guided the team past the 50-run mark. However, just as they were steering GT towards a strong position, Liam Livingstone intervened by breaking the partnership, providing PBKS with a crucial breakthrough.
In the tenth over, the England star removed Gill for 35 runs. The GT skipper‘s innings spanned 29 balls and included five boundaries. Attempting to clear the boundary, Gill lofted Liam Livingstone’s delivery towards long-off, but Kagiso Rabada made an easy catch.
Upon completing the catch, Livingstone erupted into a wild celebration. He let out a massive roar and was seen directing his celebration towards Gill as the latter made his way back to the dressing room.

At the time of this report, GT stood at 89 for 3 in the 14th over. Following the dismissals of Gill and David Miller, courtesy of Liam Livingstone, GT’s scorecard read 77 for 3. PBKS, earlier in the game, were bowled out for 142 runs.
PBKS faced a tough situation at 99 for 7, but a resilient 29-run contribution from Harpreet Brar helped them post a competitive total. Spinner Sai Kishore was the standout performer for GT with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 33 runs. Speaking after the innings, Sai Kishore said:
“Definitely tried to play for the team, grateful for the opportunity given today. I gave my 120%, luckily it paid off. I felt I should slow it down on this pitch, instinct told me that was a better pace to bowl at.”
He added: “After the first two balls I realized bowling into the wicket is the way to go on this pitch and just tried to vary the pace and keep it tight,”Â
