IPL 2017: They say when things are going your way, no one can stop you. Martin Guptill will not forget the 12th of May 2017 in a hurry. This is because he started off playing a wonderful innings for KXIP and helped them reach their mammoth score of 230-4 in 20 overs. The New Zealander who is regarded as one of the best openers in the game managed to give the KXIP a great start.

With the momentum on their side, the KXIP side must’ve thought the game was done and dusted but how wrong they were. The Mumbai Indians came out all guns blazing with Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel scoring freely. It would need a moment of magic to separate the tie and it arrived in the form of Martin Guptill.

When Glenn Maxwell bowled a ball in the slot for Simmons, he thwacked it towards long on in hope of getting another boundary. It looked like it would be another maximum but Guptill had other plans. The Kiwi jumped perfectly and stuck his right hand out.

The ball managed to stick and the crowd was shocked and amazed at the same time. It will go down as one of the best catches in the tournament and probably one of the best of all time.

Punjab went on to win the game by a whisker and the catch would have surely made a huge difference. Watch the video here:
