Mujeeb Ur Rahman Almost Hurt Himself Due To Sandy Outfield In Dharamsala: Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan in the third game of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 that took place at the recently renovated HPCA stadium in Dharamshala.

It was the first match of the 2023 World Cup at the renovated HPCA stadium in Dharamshala, however, during the game, concerns were raised about the condition of the outfield. The lack of grass cover and patchy appearance was evident the day before the game as well. During the game, the sandy outfield almost caused an injury during the game.

For the unversed, Afghanistan’s Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman had an injury scare after he dived a deep backward square but he fell awkwardly as some mud kicked out of the ground. He eventually ended up hurting and injuring his knee.

The video of the unfortunate incident has been going viral on the internet. Watch it here:

This happened in Dharamsala today! How did the ICC deem this ground fit enough to host a World Cup match 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

As per a member of the Afghanistan team management who spoke with Cricbuzz, he remarked that the venue’s current condition is unsuitable for international cricket.

“It’s unfortunate to witness. The ground is visually stunning but not yet equipped for international matches. This current state is unacceptable for international cricket. Factors such as rainfall may contribute to the problem, but regardless, it’s not ready at the moment.”

It has to be noted that earlier India’s third Test match against Australia was moved from Dharamsala to Indore at short period following concerns about the conditions of the outfield.

Meanwhile, after Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman suffered an injury scare, social media was flooded with reactions from the fans, slamming the BCCI for the sandy outfield at the Dharamsala stadium. Check out the reactions of the fans:
