Some fans were led to believe that former India captain and superstar cricketer Virat Kohli had invited the Pakistan cricket team to his house for a “party”, and he had made a special mention of Shadab Khan, the Pakistan leg-spinner and vice-captain.
The Pakistan cricket team, captained by Babar Azam, is touring India for the World Cup 2023. This is their first visit in 7 years, since coming here for the 2016 T20 World Cup.
After losses in the two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia, Pakistan have started the World Cup with a good win over the Netherlands in Hyderabad.
Amid this, there is a tweet from “Virat Kohli” going viral on social media in which apparently Kohli had invited the Pakistan cricket team to his home. The tweet also said that he wishes all players “spread love and joy”.
“I warmly Welcome Pakistan Cricket Team on their arrival in my country after a long time period of 7 years, I will host a party for my friends specially for Shadab at my house 🤗 Love you all, always spread love and joy,” the tweet read.

No, that tweet that is doing rounds is a fake one was sent by a fake or parody account of Virat Kohli. This tweet was sent by a user with the Twitter handle “@amiVkohli”, while Kohli’s original account is “@imVkohli”.
Meanwhile, while Pakistan have recorded their first win of the tournament in their first game, India will take on Australia on Sunday in Chennai. India, the number 1 ranked ICC ODI team in the world, will be looking to start their campaign with a victory.
India and Pakistan will meet on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
