Ravichandran Ashwin was unstoppable in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand. He ran through Blackcaps’ batting line up almost every time he came on to the ball in the three-match Test series.
It was a spectacular performance by Ashwin as he became the third quickest bowler in Test cricket history to pick 20 five-wicket hauls. Ashwin has played just 39 Test matches for India and he has already picked 21 fie-wicket hauls. These are mind-boggling numbers and we can only expect better things from Ashwin.
Ashwin took 27 wickets in the three-match series and by virtue of this performance he has now replaced South Africa’s Dale Steyn as the number 1 Test bowler in the latest ICC Rankings.
