Mumbai Indians’ new sensation Akash Madhwal has impressed one and all with his clinical performance in the Eliminator 1 round, where he picked up five wickets and helped his team thrash Lucknow Super Giants at the iconic Chepauk Stadium.

Akash bowled the best spell in the history of IPL playoffs as he picked a 5-for in 3.3 overs and helped MI win over LSG by 81 runs. He ran through the batting line-up of Lucknow and picked five wickets in the Eliminator 1 round to help Mumbai qualify for Eliminator 2. He dismissed opener Prerak Mankad (3), Ayush Badoni (1), Nicholas Pooran (0), Ravi Bishnoi (3), and Mohsin Khan (0).

Later after the win, Akash Madhwal was on top of the trending list across social media. From cricketers and experts to fans, everyone hailed Madhwal’s brilliant performance.

However, he has received the biggest compliment from none other than the God of Cricket, Mr. Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar Heaped Praises On Akash Madhwal

In a video shared by Mumbai Indians via their official YouTube channel, Sachin Tendulkar was asked to say a few words to Nita Ambani. Tendulkar pointed out that the game-changing in the LSG innings and also hailed Madhwal’s performances as “incredible.”

In the dressing room speech, Tendulkar said:

“Greeny and Surya’s partnership set the platform for us. 182 on this big ground, was a good total. The wicket played differently compared to the last game, but when we went out to field, it was as if we were defending 145. That kind of fielding standards were set. It was incredible,”

He added:

“I thought that was one of the reasons Badoni played that shot (in the 10th over against Madhwal), and to me, that was the turning point of the game. Yes, Krunal’s wicket was important, but those two wickets in the over, you forced him to play that shot. Few dot shots and he went across the line. To me, that was the turning point. Everyone chipped in. (turning towards Akash Madhwal) Incredible, Madhwal. Continue the good work,”
