Sakshi Dhoni Got Emotional Last Night: Fans and the entire cricketing fraternity were left in awe of MS Dhoni as he rolled back the clock to finish things off in his trademark style in the Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals and lead his team straight into the finals.
Chasing a target of 172 runs, Chennai Super Kings needed 24 runs off 11 balls, this is when Dhoni made a huge call by promoting himself ahead of Ravindra Jadeja and with him past his prime as a batter, everyone was expecting expecting Jadeja.
However, with immense self-belief has been a hallmark of MS Dhoni over the years and the same was on full display during Qualifier 1 as the three-time IPL-winning skipper decided to take matters into his own hands.
Though Dhoni missed the first ball he faced from Avesh Khan but soon he connected with an attempted pull shot off the second delivery to smash a much-needed six. Tom Curran dismisssed Moeen Ali on the first delivery of the final over. However, Dhoni was in the mood to break havoc as he punched a slower delivery from Curran through the covers to reduce the equation to nine off four.
On the next delivery, Dhoni swung hard but ended up getting a thick inside edge and the move proceeded to run towards the fine-leg four. Now with just 4 off the last three balls, Dhoni rocked it again to pull Curran behind the square to finish things off in style.
While MS Dhoni was calm as usual while hitting the last-ball four, his wife Sakshi Dhoni couldn’t hold back her emotions as she hugged their daughter in her arms. Pictures and videos of the emotional moment have been going viral on the internet.
