Young India cricketer Shubman Gill was involved in the action throughout England’s first innings in the ongoing second Test match in Visakhapatnam as he took four good catches.
While three of them were taken at first slip, all three of Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, the fourth one was taken at short mid-wicket off Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling. However, Shubman Gill almost dropped it, but took it on one juggle, and gave a sheepish smile after that as Kuldeep bagged his third wicket of the innings.
It was a googly on the shorter length from Kuldeep to Rehan Ahmed. Seeing the short length, Rehan rocked back and pulled it with power, however, he only managed to get the toe-end of the bat. The ball still flew in the air.
Shubman Gill, stationed at short mid-wicket, timed his jump brilliantly and got both hands to the ball, but spilled it on the first attempt. Gill remained calm, though, and caught the ball in his second attempt before quickly throwing it in the air with a cheeky smile on his face as Kuldeep wheeled off in his celebration. Rehan looked upset with himself got getting out for a back-of-length ball that he could have dispatched anywhere in the deep on the legside.

Early at the start of the day, Shubman Gill dropped a tough chance of Crawley off Ashwin’s bowling, but after that, the youngster was on his mark every time a catching opportunity came.
Jasprit Bumrah’s stunning six-wicket haul, en route he completed 150 Test wickets, helped India take a lead of 143 runs, which Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal extended to 171 runs by the end of the day without losing their wicket. India will aim to give England a target of at least 400 runs from hereon.
