Kohli dismissed for duck The Sri Lankan test for team India just ahead of the South Africa tour didn’t turn out to be how India would have liked it. After action began at Eden Gardens once the rain was kind to take a break India looked in misery right from the first ball. A peach delivery from Lakmal got rid of Lokesh Rahul the very first ball and then soon Shikhar Dhawan followed.

Then Skipper Kohli too got out and it seemed like the best team in the Test Rankings has surrendered to the visitors. Virat Kohli in a very rare event could only manage a duck and that too after having played 11 balls.

Here is the video:

Kohli walked in when India was 8/2 and Lakmal was having the spell of his life. The very first ball Kohli faced was a beauty from Lakmal and Kohli somehow survived it.

Then the Sri Lankan bowlers who were being largely facilitated by the overcast conditions bowled incessant outswingers to Kohli and then Lakmal took him by surprise by getting one towards him. He was caught on the pad and was given out. The crowd went silent and all those watching the match on TV too I’m sure would have been stunned.

Virat Kohli immediately looked at the other end towards Pujara to seek and opinion for the review. Kohli thought the extra bounce and the ball drifting down the leg side might just save him but it wasn’t the case. The review went against him and he had to walk back to the pavilion without bothering the scorers at all. But since it was the umpire’s call, India’s review wasn’t wasted but India lost their captain.

Later due to bad light the play was suspended and Kohli would have thought, just if he could have held on to the crease a little longer.
