Probably India’s greatest fielder of all time, Suresh Raina is someone who does not shy from throwing his body on the line. He has taken so many memorable catches and here we focus on the best ever ones taken by him:
Versus Sri Lanka:
Fielding at square leg, Raina pulled off a beauty to dismiss Shanaka of Sri Lanka. The batsman swept the ball off Ashwin hard assuming that it would easily clear the fielder. However, Raina sprung to his right, and eyes on the ball, leapt to catch it in both hands.
Versus Australia:
Standing at his favourite point position, Raina anticipated a shot from Simon Katich to dismiss the Aussie. Katich cut the ball hard and Raina, looking ready, pounced to his favoured left and pulled off a stunner.
Versus Pakistan:
Facing a marauding Younis Khan, Raina put an end to his innings by pulling off something special. Standing at short cover, Younis drove one in the hope of clearing the fielder and getting four runs. Raina however, threw one hand up in the air and the ball stuck, thus completing one of the best catches in cricket.
T20 League:
Playing for CSK and standing at long-on, Raina showed that he can take catches that require running too. As the ball was high in the air, Raina ran in from his position and pulled off a stunning diving effort at full stretch.
Versus Bangladesh:
Playing Bangladesh, Raina was able to pull a blinder by diving to his right. The batsman thought he had cleared the player but Raina, at full stretch managed to keep a hold of the ball in his right hand.
