Talking about their performance, Gill and Kohli added crucial 58 runs for the 3rd wicket on day 3. The young opener put on 74 runs for the first wicket with Rohit Sharma before the captain was dismissed. After his dismissal, Gill formed a crucial partnership with Cheteshwear Pujara and added 113 runs. Gill was eventually dismissed for 128 off Nathan Lyon.

The Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli also went on to play one of the finest knocks. On Day 4 of the ongoing 4th Test match, Virat extended his patient innings and converted his stunning knock to triple-digit figures before the end of the second session.

After the first half hour of the second session, Kohli scored a memorable century and became the quickest batter to touch the 75-century mark in international cricket. Kohli looked good to register a double century however, he eventually returned to the pavilion after scoring 186 runs off 364 balls, smashing 15 boundaries.

All thanks to this knock, India put up a strong total of 571 runs to get a 91-run lead.
