Virat Kohli is a very proactive captain and he likes getting involved in everything that is happening in the middle. Kohli is a very animated character on the field and gets excited every time there is an appeal from his bowler, wicketkeeper and close in fielders. We saw during the One Day International (ODI) series against England how he asked for a review in excitement even when MS Dhoni kept saying no.
But in the first innings of the ongoing one-off Test between India and Bangladesh in Hyderabad, Virat Kohli took a brilliant review to dismiss Bangladesh’s opening batsman Soumya Sarkar. Even when the bowler and wicketkeeper didn’t seem interested, Kohli, who was standing at covers, felt that he heard something and asked for a review.
Initially, nobody seemed interested but as soon as the replay was shown on the big screen, the crowd stood up to applaud Virat Kohli’s brilliant decision. Umesh Yadav bowled a good delivery that came back in after pitching and took sarkar’s inside edge on its way to Wriddhiman Saha. Both, Yadav and Saha, didn’t seem that excited but Virat Kohli came in shouting from covers and soon Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay joined him. The review was taken and umpire Marais Erasmus had to change his decision in favour of Virat Kohli and Team India. Watch it here:
