Akram is the most famous name in Pakistan cricket and is a regular part of the commentary panel whenever and wherever Pakistan plays. However, despite that, the security guard didn’t recognize Akram.

He is part of the commentary panel for Fox Cricket for this series. He was stopped twice on Friday morning to have his accreditation checked. Fuming and unhappy with this incident, Wasim Akram decided to narrate this incident during his commentary stint on the morning of Day 2.

Akram sat with Michael Vaughan and Mark Howard to narrate this event, and both of his co-commentators looked shocked and surprised at the security guard’s actions of asking Akram twice for his accreditation.

Wasim Akram told to Vaughan and Howard: “He said, ‘show me your card’, and I did.”

He added: “He said, ‘no show it again, I haven’t seen your picture.’ So I said, ‘here we go Buddy’.”

Co-commentator Michael Vaughan then asked: “So you’re just going to wear it all day now?”

“Yeah, I suppose,” Akram replied.

Meanwhile, talking about the match, Pakistan have made a strong statement with the bat. The Pakistani bowlers first bowled Australia out for 487 in the morning session. Then the two Pakistani openers, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq, stonewalled almost everything from the Australian pacers. They played and missed plenty of balls, but had some luck on their side and remained determined.

The openers put a partnership of 74 runs in 218 balls before Shafique got out. Captain Shan Masood then cracked 30 runs in 43 balls while Imam played steadily.
