Joe Root was livid with himself after being dismissed – or rather, one would say, throwing away his wicket – in England’s first innings of the Rajkot Test as Jasprit Bumrah got him for the 9th time in Test cricket. Root screamed into his helmet as he walked back while India celebrated their breakthrough early in the morning session.

After Root’s dismissal, Kuldeep Yadav struck twice with the wickets of Bairstow for a duck and Ben Duckett for 153. Ben Stokes, at the other end, is looking dangerous and has hit four boundaries so far.
