India’s tour of South Africa 2021 is going to be a massive series for Virat Kohli, after what has happened in the last 10 days and how all the focus has been on him and his sacking as India’s ODI skipper, just a few days before Team India left for the tour.

Since then, Virat Kohli has come out openly and aggressively against the BCCI and hasn’t minced his words while talking about the sacking fiasco. BCCI has also not held their words back and given it back to Virat Kohli.

This is a very rare situation in the history of Indian cricket, maybe the first time ever that an Indian captain has said so many things against the BCCI, in an open press conference before a series.

All the focus has been shifted away from the cricketing aspects of India’s tour of South Africa, everybody is only interested in dressing room gossips involving Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and the BCCI.

But, we would like to bring fans’s focus back on the field as it will be a very important Test series for India and it will have a big impact on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.

It will be also be a very crucial Test series for Virat Kohli because he hasn’t scored a hundred from a very long period of time and cricket fans across the world have been talking about his 71st international hundred which has been in waiting for more than two years now. He will have to let his bat do all the talking and send a strong message to his critics in the BCCI and media that he is still India’s best batter in the red-ball format.

Also, as a captain, Virat Kohli be under a lot of pressure because the white-ball captaincy has been taken away from him and a series win in South Africa, if it happens, will send out a loud and clear message to the cricketing world that he is India’s best ever Test skipper, as India has never managed to win a series in the Rainbow nation.

Virat Kohli has a chance to break Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni’s record

If Virat Kohli leads India to a win in even one Test (or more), he would become the first Indian captain to win two (or more) Tests in the South Africa. So far, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are the only Indian skippers who have managed to win a Test match as captains in South Africa.
