Two of India’s greatest ever cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, hailed as the God and the GOAT of cricket by their fans, have been invited to the Pran Pratishtha, which is the consecration ceremony, of Lord Shree Rama at the iconic Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

According to a report by The Print India, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have been sent invitees for the inauguration of the holy place next month. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be in attendance at the Pran Pratishtha event and is reported that he will inaugurate the temple on January 22.

Apart from Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, more than 7000 guests in the country, including 4,000 sadhus and saints, have been sent invitees to attend the programs, the rituals of which will commence on January 16 before the newly built shrine is opened for the devotees.

Since Virat Kohli was invited, and as this news went viral, some fans trolled Rohit Sharma for not getting an invite, despite being the captain of the Indian men’s cricket team.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma take a break from white-ball matches in South Africa

Meanwhile, both Kohli and Sharma have taken a break from the white-ball matches in South Africa this month. Both the senior players will miss the 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs in South Africa before the Test series. Both Rohit and Kohli are expected to feature in a couple of red-ball practice matches ahead of the 2-Test series.

In the absence of Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul will captain India in the ODIs and Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side in the T20Is against the Proteas.

This seems to be the last chance for both Rohit and Kohli to record a Test series win in South Africa, something which no Indian team has ever managed to do. India lost the last two Test series in South Africa by 2-1 under Kohli.
