Virat Kohli Has Made A Request To MS Dhoni

There has been a lot of speculations and rumors regarding the retirements of former India skipper MS Dhoni following the ICC World Cup 2019. MS Dhoni has been on the receiving end of criticism, ever since India’s heartbreaking exit from the World Cup.

Recently, a report that stated that MS Dhoni will now not be the first choice for wicket-keeping. MSK Prasad, the chairman of selectors also clarified the same, he said that they are looking at Rishab Pant as the first choice wicket-keeper for India across all the formats.

The rumors of Dhoni’s retirement touched the new heights after he made himself unavailable for the upcoming series against West Indies.

However, according to the recent reports, Dhoni is likely to continue till the T20 World Cup in 2020 and the credit for his stay goes to none other than our Indian skipper, Virat Kohli himself.

Virat Kohli Has Made A Request To MS Dhoni

A report quoted: “It was only after Virat (Kohli) advised Dhoni not to quit immediately that the latter changed his mind,”

The report also stated that according to Virat, MS Dhoni is completely fit and can continue till the T20 World Cup next year. The report read:

“Virat feels that Dhoni has no fitness issues and can continue till the T20 World Cup next year if required by the team. The logic is that while grooming Pant, the Indian think-tank does not want any other wicketkeeper in the team. And, if Pant suffers any injury or loss of form during this time, then Dhoni can easily come in without any issues,”
