It may come as a surprise to you, but India’s Test captain is originally not from Delhi. Virat Kohli played and still plays his domestic cricket from Delhi, but he hails from Katni (Madhya Pradesh).

As per some media reports, Virat Kohli’s uncle and aunt still live in that city but haven’t spoken to him in years now. Many say that Virat had come to Katni after the death of his brother in the year 2005. Virat’s aunty has been the Mayor of the city and has told that during the partition, Virat Kohli’s grandfather came to Katni. Kohli’s father Prem Kohli studied in Gulabchand School in Katni after which he went to Sarangpur and then shifted to Delhi from there.

Virat’s uncle, Girish Kohli, recently revealed that Virat last came to Katni on his cousin’s death. Their ancestral house is still in Katni but has been sold now.

Now, Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in the world and he has achieved many great things in his young career. Kohli is also the highest paid cricketer in the world and the amount of money he generates through endorsement and his business ventures, makes him one of the riches cricketer in the world. Virat recently bought a very lavish apartment in Mumbai and here are some pictures from his house!
