Virat Kohli’s marathon innings against England in the first innings of the recently concluded fourth Test at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, has been the biggest talking point on social media in the last couple of days.

From fans to cricket pundits, everyone, other than James Anderson, hailed Virat Kohli’s knock and praised his consistent run at the international level. In the last 2 years or so, Virat Kohli has been in tremendous form and he has dominated bowling attacks almost everywhere he played, across all three formats of the game.

Former Australian captain and a cricket commentator, Michael Clarke, said that Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world and there shouldn’t by any debate on this. On Twitter, one of Clarke’s follower asked him that who is the best in the world, and this is how Michael Clarke replied:

“He is the best batsman in the world full stop”

It is a big statement because current Australian captain Steve Smith is also in the run for the best in the world, and he is ahead of Virat Kohli in the latest ICC Test Rankings. Steve Smith is at the number one position, whereas Virat Kohli is just one place behind him at no. 2. Smith has also been terrific touch across all three formats but Clarke picked India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli ahead of his own countryman.
