MS Dhoni is, arguably, the greatest captain in cricket history. During his time as captain of Indian cricket team, India achieved great heights in the game and won almost every trophy that was there to be won.

It was 2007 ICC World T20 in which MS Dhoni led India for the first time. With his long hair and big smile, MS Dhoni led a young team to glory, by defeating Pakistan in the final. And since, he hasn’t looked back. He is the most successful ODI captain India has ever had, and his role in taking India to number 1 position in cricket can’t be ignored.

Dhoni, who started his captaincy career with a very young team, led legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and others with utmost respect and integrity.

The fourth match of the ongoing series between Sri Lanka and India was MS Dhoni’s 300th One Day International (ODI) match. And, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), celebrated the big event by honouring MS Dhoni before the start of the match.

Indian captain Virat Kohli, who is one of the biggest admirers of MS Dhoni, was all praise for his previous captain MS Dhoni during the toss and also while honouring MS Dhoni’s contribution.

“MS has been a legend of the game. We know the importance of him in our cricketing careers. 90 per cent of us started our careers under him,” Virat Kohli said at the toss.

Later, BCCI also shared a picture of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, with a caption: “You will always remain our captain.”
