Batting maestro Virat Kohli was the main architect of the win as he put up a stellar batting show, while the RCB bowlers also made sure that the David Warner-led side could not even get going.

Coming out to bat first, RCB put up a total of 174 runs on the scoreboard, riding on the stellar knock of Virat. Kohli continued with his red-hot form in the 2023 Indian Premier League season with another half-century at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He smashed the third fifty of the ongoing season.

Coming out to bat against DC, Kohli completed his fifty in just 33 balls, lacing six boundaries and a solitary six in his knock of a strike rate around 150. On reaching the milestone, Kohli broke into an aggressive celebration where he was seen hurling a mouthful after beating his chest.

Later coming out to chase the target, Delhi Capitals couldn’t even get going, as none of the batters scored enough runs. Eventually, DC was bundled out for 151 runs and they lost the game by 29 runs.

Virat Kohli Was Disappointed

Meanwhile, after the match, Virat Kohli opened up about his match-winning knock. He said that he backed himself to play good shots and was also disappointed that he got out to a full-toss delivery. He said:

“It was a tricky one. When it went up in the air, I made sure there was no one close to me. I made sure I grabbed it solidly. I was quite disappointed that I got out to a full toss. I’ve been playing really well. One thing I mentioned to the guys in the change room that 175 was enough on this pitch. It slowed down considerably.”

Further, Virat Kohli also talked about they let slip away last two games. He added: “We did well to get to that score and had the belief it was enough. When I’ve played my best cricket, those are the balls I’ve put away consistently. When I put away their best balls, it puts pressure on the bowlers. We kind of let it slip away last two games. That was a different mentality and phase altogether (T20 WC 2016 semis). I back myself to hit good shots. When they come off they look good.”

RCB will be next seen in action when they take on Chennai Super Kings on Monday (17th April) at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
