Virat Kohli, the standout player for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), received the ‘Player of the Match’ award in the dressing room after his team’s defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Chinnnaswamy Stadium on Friday.

After the defeat, Virat Kohli, who scored an unbeaten 83 runs off 59 balls with four boundaries and four sixes, received a gift hamper from his teammate Glenn Maxwell. Despite Kohli’s brilliant innings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) managed to score 182/6 in their 20 overs.

However, explosive batting performances by Sunil Narine and Venkatesh Iyer enabled Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to chase down the target with 19 balls to spare and seven wickets in hand.

After receiving the award, Virat said as quoted in a video by RCB’s X handle, “On a more serious note, we had a tough night, we all know that. We are much better than that so, as long as we accept it, and move forward with the same courage, and the same belief in our skills. That is all we can come up with, so let us stay on that path.”
