Virat Kohli Praised KL Rahul Lavishly After The Second ODI

KL Rahul, the Indian cricketer impressed one and all with his impeccable performance as ‘keeper-batsman’ in the second ODI match in Rajkot. His brilliance made him earn the ‘Man of the Match’ trophy that was well-deserved by him.

From being asked to bat at number 5 to open the innings for India, and then in the middle order to being asked to play the role of a keeper, KL Rahul did everything and emerged victorious in all of them to prove his worth in the Indian squad.

Walking in to bat at number 5, KL Rahul smashed the Australian bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He kept everyone on the edge of their seats as he went on to score 80 runs off 522 balls only, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes with the strike-rate of 153.85.

Besides his batting performance, KL Rahul also made a dream debut with as a fulltime keeper-batsman as not just he stumped Aaron Finch but also went on to take two big catches.

In the post-match interview, the Indian sipper was all praises for Rahul. Calling him a multi-dimensional player, Virat Kohli thanked KL Rahul for showing his brilliance in Rajkot. Praising KL Rahul, he said:

“KL is becoming a multi-dimensional player, and it’s really great when players step up like this,”

“It’s important to not leave someone like KL out. You saw how he batted today. This is probably the best he’s played at the international level.”

He added:

“The knock showed maturity and class, and we know exactly what we’re doing in the dressing room,”
