The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League has already started with a bang. The first match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings was worth all the wait and excitement. People went crazy after watching tough competition between the two teams.
Today Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders. Fans are very excited for this match to watch their favorite players on the ground. However, a question has been haunting in everyone’s mind every since the auctions were done.
Everyone was shocked when Chris Gayle wasn’t chosen to be a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore this time. He will be playing for Kings XI Punjab in this season of IPL.
We all know how dangerous of a player is Chris Gayle, time after time, match after match he has proved how brilliant cricketer he is. He has a huge fan following all around the world. He has millions of Indian fans too, who are crazy for his flamboyant attitude on and off the ground.
However, Chris Gayle hasn’t been effective in the recent times. He is currently isn’t in the great form with his bat.
The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli finally revealed the reason why the management didn’t chose Chris Gayle this time. He said:
“He has done a great job for RCB over the past few years but looking at the team dynamics for the next three years the decision was taken. We thought of infusing new people who will give us the kind of balance we require”
He added:
“I do not want to take anything away from Chris as we just decided to go in with the balance that can sustain the team in the next three years. We did not want to be relying on two or three people all the time”.
Considering the fact that RCB had a disastrous season last year and they ended up losing brutally.And also, Chris Gayle even didn’t played for the majority of games. This seems a valid reason for not opting Chris Gayle this time.
However, things will be cleared as the matches will be played.
