Jaiswal gave a flying start to Rajasthan Royals in the chase to the target of 150 runs and hit Nitish Rana for back-to-back sixes on the first two balls. He smashed three boundaries on the next four balls and smashed a total of 26 runs in the opening over.

The star opener didn’t let the scoring rate go down as he finished the second over with a boundary and a six. In the 3rd over, Jaiswal smashed three back-to-back boundaries off Shardul Thakur’s bowling and reached the 50-run mark with a single on the fourth ball.

Jaiswal breached the 50-run mark in just 13 balls. With this, he broke the 5-year-old record of KL Rahul.

The record for the fastest half-century in the Indian Premier League was held by KL Rahul, who reached the fifty off just 14 balls. He achieved the milestone on his debut match for Punjab Kings (then known as Kings XI Punjab) in IPL 2018.

Pat Cummins became the joint-fastest half-centurion in IPL in IPL 2022. He also achieved the milestone while playing for KKR. And a year later, Yashasvi also scored his IPL’s fastest half-century against the same team.

Fastest fifties in IPL:

⦿ Yashasvi Jaiswal: 13 balls
⦿ KL Rahul: 14 balls
⦿ Pat Cummins: 14 balls
⦿ Yusuf Pathan: 15 balls
⦿ Sunil Naraine: 15 balls

Jaiswal is second behind RCB skipper Faf du Plessis’ 576 runs in the highest run-getters list this season.

Earlier this season, Jaiswal became the joint-second fastest Indian to hit 1000 IPL runs after reaching the elite milestone in just 34 innings.
