Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli found themselves in a heated exchange last season during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. The altercation occurred when Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq were involved in a spat, drawing Gambhir into the fray. Both Kohli and Gambhir had to be separated from the other players following the incident.

Since then, the two cricketing stalwarts will face each other for the first time on Friday (March 29) as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Kolkata Knight Riders. After IPL 2023, Gambhir left Lucknow Super Giants and took up the role of mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders.
Before the big game, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) added some spice by sharing a couple of photos on their social media platforms. The first photo featured Gautam Gambhir in focus, with a blurred figure in the background. However, the second picture clarified the scene, revealing that the blurred figure was none other than Virat Kohli, gazing in the direction of KKR’s mentor, Gambhir.
Sharing the two photos, KKR wrote: “Cricket images that hit hard.”

In the match against Chennai Super Kings, Virat Kohli managed to score 21 runs off 20 balls. However, he showcased his batting prowess in the game against Punjab Kings. Kohli emerged as the standout performer, being the sole player to notch a half-century in the match.
With a brilliant display of batting, the right-handed batsman scored 77 runs off 49 balls, guiding Royal Challengers Bangalore to a successful chase of 176 runs and securing their first victory in the tournament.
