It wasn’t a good day at work for Virat Kohli led team India, who found themselves on the losing side of the first ODI match. The team failed to chase the target of 375 runs posted by Australians by 66 runs after the batting line-up of team India collapsed.

During the post-match presentation, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli talked about the 66-run defeat to Australia. He admitted that team India lacked options in the bowling department. He also claimed that the team management will think about where they can get a few overs from.

When he was asked if he will bring himself to bowl in the second ODI match. Responding to which, Kohli said:

“Maybe I’ll bowl a few when Finchy is batting because I know he doesn’t want to get out to me.”

Further, Virat was asked if team India didn’t have enough time to prepare for the ODI series after serving a long-quarantine period after they arrived in Australia. Though he refrained from pointing fingers at the lack of preparedness for the series however, he went on to claim that his team just didn’t turn up on the game. He said:

“We had enough time to prepare, so I don’t think there’s any excuses when you don’t pull up as a side. This is probably the first long game we’ve played in a while. We’ve been playing T20 cricket but having said that, we’ve all played a lot of ODI cricket. The body language after 25-26 overs was disappointing. A quality side will hurt you.”

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how things will unfold in the second ODI match, that will take place tomorrow, i.e, on 29th November.
