
The Indian skipper Virat Kohli hailed the performances of Indian athletes who participated in the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics 2020. Virat Kohli, who is currently in England alongwith team India for the ongoing 5-match Test series was all praises for the Indians athletes who gave their best to bring laurels to the country.
India’s campaign at Tokyo Olympics started with Mirabai Chanu’s silver on the first day and came to end with Neeraj Chopra creating history by winning a gold medal. Team India produced its best performance at the 32nd Olympiad in Tokyo with an unprecedented 7 medals, which included a gold medal by Neeraj Chopra.
Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu (silver), badminton star PV Sindhu (bronze), boxer Lovlina Borgohain (bronze), men’s hockey team (bronze), wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya (silver) and Bajrang Punia (bronze) bagged the rest of the medals for India. There were numerous firsts for India during their 17-day campaign in Tokyo.
On Sunday, just minutes after the series-opening first Test against England ended in a draw in Nottingham, Virat took to his Twitter and hailed the performance of Indian athletes who participated in the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics 2020.
In his tweet, Virat congratulated the athletes and wrote a heartfelt tweet, expressing how all the Indians are proud of them. He wrote:
“Congratulations to all our winners and participants at the Olympics. Winning and losing is a part of sport, but what matters is you gave your best for the nation. We are so proud of you and I wish you all the very best going forward. Jai Hind”
