The skipper of the team, Virat Kohli had already hinted that they will use this opportunity to test the firepower of the squad and those who were in bench. However, The Indian cricket team failed to deliver an impact full performance last night and lost the match. The top batting line up, excluding Virat Kohli couldn’t contribute much to the total runs.

Talking about Indian cricket team loosing the match to England to IndiaTv in an exclusive interview, the former Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag blamed the batsmen for the loss. He said:

“India lost because they didn’t score runs. They were 30-40 runs short of putting up a challenging total. The batsmen could have done a better job, be it anyone, Dhoni, Kohli, Rohit or Dhawan, either should have hung on to score runs so that the bowlers could apply pressure in the chase. I blame the batsmen for this loss,”

Virender Sehwag was very critical about MS Dhoni’s performance last night and said that he could have converted the dot balls he played into some runs. He also said that Dhoni’s age factor is catching up with his performance. He said:

“If Karthik and Dhoni could have hung on till the end, the outcome could have been very different. I feel that Dhoni is not the same person that he was before. Age is surely catching up. He used to take the responsibility to take the match till the end. He could have converted the many dot balls he played into runs,”
