Virender Sehwag likely to replace Sanjay Bangar as Kings XI Punjab’s head coach

According to a report published in Times of India, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag will replace Sanjay Bangar as the next head of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Virender Sehwag played his last IPL season as a Kings XI Punjab player and he is currently playing the role of a mentor.

Times of India also reported that Sanjay Bangar parted ways with the IPL franchise owing to an argument with the owner of the team Preity Zinta about the loses Kings XI Punjab suffered in the last season of IPL.

Virender Sehwag has no experience in the field of coaching but he has been a part of the Kings XI Punjab franchise for a very long time now and he shares a very good relationship with the players, coaching staff and the owners.

Sanjay Bangar, who is also the batting coach of Indian cricket team, took the decision to resign from the job last month itself, according to a report published in Times of India.

Earlier, Kings XI Punjab former Australian tear apart Mitchell Johnson, all-rounder Rishi Dhawan and South African pacer Kyle Abbott.
