Virender Sehwag Named The Best Candidate For Team India’s Next T20I Captain: Ever since the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has announced that he will be stepping down from the position of the T20 captaincy, the mystery over who India’s new T20I captain will be has become one of the most talked-about topics in the cricketing fraternity. Now with Virat Kohli’s stint as an all-format captain for team India, all eyes will be on selectors to announce the new Indian skipper for the T20s.
Meanwhile, several cricketers and pundits have come up with their favorites for the position of India’s next T20 captain. The latest one to join the debate is a former Indian cricketer and legendary batter Virender Sehwag.
Speaking on his Facebook show Virugiri Dot Com, Virender Sehwag named the best candidate for the position of T20 Captaincy of India. Sehwag feels that there are many contenders for the position, but India’s star opener Rohit Sharma is the best of them all.
Sehwag feels that Rohit should be named as the next skipper given the leadership charge as he is a proven leader, especially in this format. He said:
“I think there are many candidates for captain but I think Rohit is the best candidate because he has done well as a leader for the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL. He has won the IPL championship five times. So according to me, the next T20 captain of Team India should be Rohit Sharma.”
Rohit Sharma is one of the most successful skippers in the history of IPL, having won the tournament five times. He has also led team India to a couple of tournament wins in the past, including Asia Cup in 2018 (50 overs) ad Nidahas Trophy (20 overs).
