Virender Sehwag Wished MS Dhoni On His Birthday In His Trademark Style

In his own style, former India opener Virender Sehwag wished his former skipper MS Dhoni, who turned 41 on July 7th Thursday, via a hilarious tweet. Dhoni, who had retired from international cricket in 2020, continues to play and lead the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and has also confirmed his availability for the next season.

Dhoni is hailed as the greatest limited-overs finisher and as arguably the greatest white-ball skipper, having led India to 3 ICC titles and CSK to 4 IPL trophies.

Virender Sehwag wishes Dhoni in style on his 41st birthday

Sehwag revered MS Dhoni’s finishing ability, the hope and expectation he carried every time he was at the crease.

He expressed being fortunate to have played alongside the Ranchi-born and to know him in person.

“Till the time full stop doesn’t come,a sentence isn’t completed. Till the time Dhoni is at the crease, match isn’t completed,” Sehwag tweeted with a couple of pictures of himself and Dhoni.

“Not all teams have the fortune to have a person like Dhoni, Happy B’day to a gem of a person & player,MS Dhoni,” and concluded hilariously with “Om Helicopteraya Namaha.”

Here, check out Sehwag’s tweet wishing Dhoni on his 41st:

Dhoni to continue leading CSK in IPL 2023

Coming to cricket, MS Dhoni had confirmed that he will lead CSK in IPL 2023 as well. The main reason to play, as Dhoni explained, is to bid adieu to his supporters in Chennai and in the rest of India.

“Definitely [I will play IPL 2023]. It’s a simple reason: it will be unfair to not play in Chennai and say thank you [to the fans]. Mumbai is one place where, as a team and as an individual, I have got a lot of love and affection. But it wouldn’t be nice to the CSK fans,” Dhoni had told Star Sports in the last game of CSK in IPL 2022.

“And also, hopefully next year there will be an opportunity where the teams will be travelling so it will be a like thank you to all the different places where we will be playing games at different venues. Whether it will be my last year or not that’s a big question, because you know we can’t really predict about something two years down the line. But definitely I’ll be working hard to come back strong next year.”

CSK had a largely disappointing time this year as they finished 9th in the points table with just 4 wins in 14 games. Dhoni had given the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja but the all-rounder stepped down mid-season owing to the team’s and his own dismal performance, handing the reins back to the ‘Thala’.
