RCB wicket-keeper Anuj Rawat took a one-handed stunner of Punjab Kings‘ Sam Curran during their encounter in the IPL 2024 on Monday at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
Overall, Anuj Rawat, who has been given the wicket-keeping duties ahead of Dinesh Karthik this season, took four catches in Punjab’s innings.
Sam Curran was batting well on 23 (16) and was looking set for a big knock – as he did in Punjab’s previous match against Delhi Capitals. However, some smart bowling from left-arm pacer Yash Dayal and an excellent catch from Rawat the wicket-keeper cut short Curran’s innings.
Dayal sent a bouncer to Curran’s way, and the Englishman looked to pull it. But it got a bit too big on him and he gloved the ball behind. The ball ballooned up and Rawat observed the ball carefully. The RCB wicket-keeper timed his jump to perfection as the ball neared him and he caught the ball superbly with his right hand.
