Chris Morris, who is the most expensive cricketer in the history of the Indian Premier League, silenced one and all for his price tag as he proved his worth by giving a match-winning cameo for his side. Chris turned out to be the hero of the game last night as he gave a brilliant performance at the death to guide Rajasthan Royals to victory, defeating Delhi Capitals by three wickets at the Wankhede Stadium.
It was another low-scoring thriller that kept everyone on the edge of their seats at the death overs. Chasing a target of 148 runs to win, Rajasthan Royals got off to the worst possible start, with almost half of their side back in the dugout with just 42 runs on the scoreboard.
However, David Miller joined hands with Chris Morris and together this South African duo took the game away. Following Miller’s dismissal, Morris took charge and smashed four sixes in the last two overs as Rajasthan Royals registered their maiden win of the season.
Though, at one point in the game, it looked like Rajasthan Royals are going nowhere close to the target, especially after David Miller’s dismissal, however, Morris’ fantastic shots and powerful hitting snatched the game out of Delhi Capitals hands.
Morris scored 36 runs off 18 balls, smashing 4 sixes in his sensational knock. The 4 sixes also included a class apart six, which was a no-look one. Morris had no eyes on the ball but he angled his bat perfectly to hit a huge six over a deep square leg. The ball traveled 88 meters and it was the moment that brought RR back into the game. The video of the shot has been going viral on social media.
