Team India registered a memorable victory in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 against South Africa in Barbados. It marked the end of 11 long years for India without any ICC Trophy. They had suffered defeats in the semi final and final on countless occasions. However, finally, they managed to go all the way to the trophy. It was happy ending for the Indian players and fans who were still recovering from the heartbreaking loss in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad.
Rohit Sharma and Co. went unbeaten throughout the tournament. They were the first side to win the T20 World Cup without losing any game in the tournament. They were dominant in most of the games but were pushed to the wall in the group stage game against Pakistan and in the final against South Africa.

After the win in the final, Indian players were jubilated. There were emotions bursting through their faces and tears rolling down. Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s leg spinner, did not get to play a game in the tournament. However, his wife, Dhanashree Verma was very happy in Mumbai after India won the T20 World Cup 2024.
A recent video on social media has shown Dhanashree’s reaction. She stated how important this victory was for Indian players and fans. She had the faith in the Indian players from Day 1 that they will go on to win the trophy.

Yuzvendra Chahal was sensational in the IPL 2024 and hence was picked up for the World Cup squad. However, he did not get to play a single game in the tournament. In New York, Mohammed Siraj played in the XI and when the team arrived in West Indies, Kuldeep Yadav was in the line up. Chahal has not managed to play a single game in the T20 World Cup history so far.
