[Watch] Ellyse Perry Smashes A Six And Breaks The Glass Of A Car Inside Chinnaswamy

RCB’s Ellyse Perry gave one of the most iconic moments of the WPL history – albeit it’s a two-season-old tournament only – as she smashed and broke the glass of a car that was kept inside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.

This incident happened during the RCBW vs UP Warriorz game in match number 11 of the WPL 2024 season on Monday.

Perry cracked such a fierce and accurate blow to off-spinner Deepti Sharma that the ball hit the side glass of the car that was kept inside the stadium by the sponsors and immediately shattered the window.

In the penultimate over of RCB’s innings, Ellyse Perry took a couple of steps down the pitch, got her reach to the ball, and hammered it on the legside. It was a huge six from Perry over wide long-on where the car by the sponsors was kept for show. The ball hit the side glass window directly and it promptly broke away.

While some of Perry’s RCB teammates in the dugout were cheering for the six, a few including Asha Shobana had their hands on their heads realizing what the blow had done to the car. Ellyse Perry herself had a sheepish smile and had her hand on her head.

Perry provided a blockbuster finish to RCB’s innings with her thunderous knock of 58 runs in 37 balls. This was after captain and opener Smriti Mandhana scored 80 runs in 50 balls. These two innings and cameos from opener Sabbhineni Meghana and wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh, who blasted 21 runs in 10 balls, helped RCB post a huge total of 198. Not only this is a match-winning total, but this could also help RCB attain a boost in the NRR.
