Legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid kickstarted his career as the Indian coach with a bang as the Indian cricket team won the second ODI match between sealed the 3-match ODI series 2-0. The second ODI match between Sri Lanka and India was nothing short of a box-office event.

There were moments when the game looked in favor of the Sri Lanka cricket team, however, team India stole the show with a thrilling performance from Deepak Chahar, who pulled back the game to team India. Deepak Chahar emerged out to be the hero of the game as he formed an unbeaten partnership of 84 runs with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to overhaul the target of 276 runs with 5 balls to spare.

After the game, the proud coach Rahul Dravid showered words of appreciation for the players for their extraordinary display during the game. Expressing his happiness, Dravid claimed that it was the fight that was important.

Dravid further lavished praises on all the players for their splendid contributions that took the team to win the series. He said:

“We obviously finished on the right side of the result… It was fantastic. Even if we did not finish on the right side, it’s the fight that was absolutely important. Well done to all of you,” 

He added:

“It’s not the time to talk about individual performances. We will talk about that in our meetings when we analyze everything. But when you look at the whole game, it was a really good team performance. There were so many performances right across in our bowling, batting even at the start obviously the batters, in the end, finished it off. It was a fantastic team performance,”
