[Watch] RR vs DC: Mukesh Kumar Does A Finger Celebration After Knocking Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Stumps

Delhi Capitals pacer Mukesh Kumar made an instant – and big – impact in his first appearance in the IPL 2024 by rattling the stumps of aggressive Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.

RR and DC met on Thursday night at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Mukesh Kumar, who was benched for Delhi’s first game, came in the XI tonight, replacing senior pacer Ishan Sharma, who picked up an injury in the previous match.4

Mukesh shared the new ball with Khaleel Ahmed – both bowling ahead of Anrich Nortje – and the Indian seamer knocked over Yashasvi Jaiswal in his first over, giving a dent to RR early in the game.

Mukesh went round the wicket to Jaiswal to cut the angle and avoid giving the left-hander much space to open up his arms on the offside.

On the fifth ball of the over, he bowled an inswinger on the fuller side of good length that pitched just outside the off-stump, and it kept coming into Jaiswal, who looked to flick on the legside. However, Jaiswal missed the ball as it seamed a bit too much than the batter anticipated. The ball hit Jaiswal’s front pad and ricocheted off it to clatter into the stumps, knocking the off-stump out of the ground.

While the Jaipur crowd went silent, Mukesh Kumar was chuffed to bit. He jumped in the air and did a celebration with his index finger by raising it in the air.
