England beat West Indies by an innings and 114 runs with Anderson ending up on the winning side in his final match in international cricket. Anderson has been part of 188 test matches and has picked up 704 wickets at an average of 26.45.

He finished his career as the third highest wicket-taker in the history of test cricket. Anderson ranks at number 1 in the list of fast bowlers with the most wickets in test cricket. He has been a legend of the game and has always stood up for England in crucial moments. Anderson has been a magician with the ball, foxing the greatest of batters with his ability to swing the ball both ways. He has always been impeccable with his line and length.

The whole Lord’s stadium stood up to pay a tribute to one of the greatest the game has ever seen. Anderson was a touch emotional while walking back to the pavilion at the end of the game. He described how it was emotional when the two teams gave a guard of honour to him and it was special for him to play for two decades.

Just a day before Anderson called Sachin Tendulkar as the greatest batter that he has ever bowled to. Today, the Master Blaster uploaded a video where he wished Anderson a happy retirement. Tendulkar congratulated Anderson on a fabulous career. He remembered the year 2002 when he saw Anderson bowl for the first time ever. He talked about how Nasser Hussain termed Anderson as the future of English cricket. Tendulkar agreed with him and said that the Englishman has not disappointed his fans and has made them happy. Tendulkar also jokingly stated that it is heartwarming to watch Anderson bowl but not so heartwarming to face him on the cricket pitch. He wished Anderson well for his retirement life and good health to his family.
